My blog is called The Characterful Writer

Character-led fiction is what I most enjoy reading, and character-led fiction is what I write.

As well as posts about the writing process, I enjoy writing about other art forms: I’m keen on cross-fertilization. One art form can often spark ideas in another. For a writer, it’s exciting when new ideas spring unexpectedly as result of a theatre or gallery visit or interview with an artist of different kinds.

I include a few reviews: I like world literature and appreciate it when the translator has been sensitive to the original.

The image above comes from a post about writing within characters’ heads. These characters are rather more gruesome than those in my novels, I hasten to say. But some come near!
